viastore Software receives order for WMS upgrade at Danfoss

Intralogistics software provider viastore Software has received an order from its long-standing customer Danfoss: Danfoss has ordered an upgrade of the existing viadat 5.4 warehouse management system (WMS) for its distribution center.

viadat will manage the warehouse and control all internal transportation and production supply. Since 2002, the company has been operating the Danfoss Distribution Center (DDC) as a central hub for its global product logistics. The site comprises an automated small parts warehouse (AKL) with ten double-deep aisles and eight picking stations, a pallet warehouse with a repack and pick-pack area and a narrow-aisle forklift warehouse. As Danfoss is continuously growing, the distribution center has since undergone numerous expansions and adaptations. All goods movements and the entire conveyor technology in the facility have been controlled by the viadat WMS right from the start.

However, the originally installed version 5.4 and the existing server are outdated after almost 20 years. For this reason, those responsible at Danfoss decided to upgrade the software to make the intralogistics system fit for the future and bring it back up to date with the latest technology. With the new viadat version, Danfoss benefits from an extended range of functions, simplified operation and maximum transparency across all inventories. In addition, the company is now up to date in terms of warehouse management and material flow management and is ideally equipped for the upcoming SAP upgrade. viastore Software is introducing the system in such a way that ongoing operations are not affected and is supporting the users to ensure a smooth start.
