Retrofit with new software
Rose Systemtechnik's 25-year-old manual warehouse in Porta Westfalica was no longer up to date, the automated small parts warehouse (AS/RS) with a Viaspeed storage and retrieval machine (SRM) was undersized and the software was outdated.
This is why Rose has opted for a retrofit with expansion. System integrator Viastore is supplying the hardware, software, know-how - and the implementation. The existing manual warehouse will be dismantled and replaced by an automated pallet warehouse (APL) with four aisles, 4,420 storage locations and the Viaconvey conveyor system.
The automated small parts warehouse is undergoing a comprehensive retrofit and is being expanded by 1,580 storage locations and a modern Viaspeed RGB. Two new picking stations, a redesigned incoming goods area and an NIO station will also be added. Viastore is also upgrading the control system for the entire system. Until now, the warehouse management system (WMS) Viadat 6.3 only managed the old miniload. It will be replaced by the latest version, Viadat 9.3. The project will be completed by April 2025.
