Inventory effort reduced to a minimum via cloud solution
Lacroix Electronics, an electronics supplier and part of the globally active Lacroix Group, has successfully optimized its inventory process with the help of Remira. Due to internal changes in the IT infrastructure, the inventory could no longer be carried out in the usual way. Lacroix Electronics therefore needed a new solution at short notice and found the right partner in the Dortmund-based software provider Remira.
Thanks to its inventory sampling service, the inventory could be carried out immediately within the tight schedule without any installation or implementation effort. Due to the positive experience, the permanent switch to Remira's cloud solution for inventory sampling followed.
Restarting the inventory process: when software reaches its limits
The Willich-based company has many years of experience in the development and production of electronic components and subassemblies. Like most companies, the electronics supplier is faced with the mandatory task of taking an inventory every year. In 2023, however, an internal IT reorganization prompted the company to redesign the entire inventory process, as the software solution previously used was no longer compatible. Due to time pressure, Lacroix Electronics initially opted for Remira's Inventory-as-a-Service offering.
"The service inventory solution was excellent in view of our initial situation and the tight time frame," says Ingo Kaufmann, Manager Business Administration at Lacroix Electronics, while his colleague Jörg Henn, Warehouse Manager at Lacroix Electronics, adds: "Remira provided us with excellent support - the team was always available and the entire process was designed to be comprehensible and easy to understand, even for non-IT specialists."
Inventory possible within one day
With the aim of taking over the inventory process itself again the following year and switching to web-based inventory sampling software in the long term, the company decided to rely on Remira's cloud solution permanently after this first project. Lacroix Electronics has now been successfully carrying out stocktaking in its warehouse in Willich since 2024 using the Remira sampling solution from the cloud, thereby reducing the process effort to a minimum. This is because the number of items to be counted has been reduced by a further 40 percent, meaning that the entire inventory is completed within one day - with just six employees.
Intuitive software simplifies stocktaking
The process is intuitive: thanks to the connection to the ERP system used, all the necessary data is available and is seamlessly transferred to the Remira software. This then defines the samples to be counted and, if required, automatically creates the corresponding count lists. The counting teams use these to record the relevant items, while the data is then read back into the system via a CSV file and evaluated. "With our old system, we were heavily dependent on IT and third parties - especially when it came to providing the count lists and exchanging data. This delayed the process enormously," recalls Jörg Henn. "Thanks to REMIRA, this is now a thing of the past and we are achieving major benefits, especially in terms of time. It really is a huge step forward compared to before."
