Efficient transport solutions for leading automotive supplier
Craiss Generation Logistik is expanding its collaboration with a leading automotive supplier. The implementation of a transport management system marks a significant step forward in logistics optimization.
"Our long-standing partnership with the automotive supplier is proof of the trust and consistency of our collaboration. Together, we have been able to optimize the entire transport chain, for example by harmonizing pick-up days, consolidating deliveries and reducing truck and ramp movements," explains Matthias Jelen, Forwarding Manager at Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG, adding: "With the introduction of our TMS, we were able to create full transparency, planning and measurability and raise the efficiency of logistics processes to a new level."
Craiss has been working for the customer for 30 years. In 2023, the automotive supplier was faced with the challenge of optimizing its transport routes and logistics processes. To this end, it launched an ideas competition, which Craiss won by presenting its optimization solution for transport routes.
TMS implemented within six months
Karl-Friedrich Rapp, Head of Transport Logistics at Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG, explains: "Because we know our customer and their processes inside out, we optimized the transport routes by combining several plant perimeters, reduced downtimes through time slot control and minimized ramp movements by bundling capacities."
The transport management system was implemented within six months and included the integration of the IT systems. The use of the online portal and real-time data exchange significantly reduced the workload for the customer. Over 80 percent of supplier call-offs are now transmitted automatically, which significantly increases the efficiency and accuracy of the processes.
