Warehouse Management System
Auma Riester modernizes production and warehouse logistics with Körber
Auma has introduced a new Warehouse Management and Control System (WMCS) from Körber at four locations. This has created the conditions for both efficient and employee-friendly processes at a leading European manufacturer of electric actuators and valve gearboxes, which employs around 2,600 people at 30 locations worldwide.
The basis for this was the introduction of Körber's WMCS at the Müllheim, Ostfildern, Wenden and Coswig sites. Within two years, a state-of-the-art software architecture was successively put into operation. Thanks to optimized production and logistics processes, replenishment times were reduced by 15 percent. The solution also plays an important role in the company's efforts to optimize the use of resources, reduce paper-based processes and increase user satisfaction. The software solution offers a correspondingly high level of user-friendliness, simplified access to information and improved transparency of all production and logistics processes in order to have a lasting impact on user acceptance. "The protection and satisfaction of our employees is of central importance to us and also plays an important role against the background of sustainable corporate goals. We are therefore very satisfied with the result, which has enabled us to raise our production and logistics processes to a new level," concludes Gé Moerel, logistics specialist at Auma Group. "At a time when customer satisfaction and efficiency are the driving forces for many companies, employee retention has become a supreme discipline. This is especially true for the logistics industry, which is facing unprecedented challenges with increasing customer requirements, shorter delivery times and growing product demand," emphasizes Michael Brandl, Executive Vice President Operations Software EMEA, Körber Business Area Supply Chain.
