Burkhard Balz new Senior VP Automation Systems at Lenze
Burkhard Balz (55) has been Senior Vice President Automation Systems at automation specialist Lenze since November 1. With Balz, a manager with international leadership experience joins the Group. In this newly created position, he will head the Systems business segment and continue to drive the growth of the systems business. With the appointment of this industry expert, Lenze is underlining its position as a system provider for machine automation.
"The systems business is one of our strategic pillars and its further development is therefore a high priority for Lenze. I am therefore delighted that we have been able to recruit Burkhard Balz, an experienced manager who will devote all his energy to this area. His many years of experience and his know-how in technology coupled with his marketing expertise will take Lenze a big step forward on its way to becoming a global key player in automation," says Lenze CEO Christian Wendler.
Burkhard Balz emphasizes the central importance of his division for Lenze's strategy. "Lenze has more than 70 years of experience in machine automation and a system portfolio that enables us to offer our customers everything they need for modern machines from a single source. Thanks to the consistent integration of automation with drive technology and the in-depth industry expertise of our sales and application engineers, we are making a significant contribution to considerably simplifying engineering and reducing overall costs. All in all, these are excellent prerequisites for my future tasks, which I am very much looking forward to."
Balz was previously Vice President Sales and Marketing Power & Energy/Industry EMEA at the US industrial group SPX Flow. Prior to this, he held various top management positions at international industrial companies, including Eaton Corporation and Rockwell Automation. He has many years of extensive experience in the drive technology and systems business. He also has extensive expertise, particularly in the areas of sales, marketing and business development. Balz holds a diploma in General European Management and is a state-certified technician specializing in data processing.
