Confectionery tradition meets intralogistics

Confectionery production in Holešov in the Czech Republic has a tradition dating back to 1863. And just like in the 19th century, the factory in Holešov is now the most important confectionery manufacturer on the Czech market. While the treats are still produced according to traditional recipes, the factory equipment now meets modern standards. For example, 13 high-speed doors from Efaflex perform important functions to safeguard production.

"Our company's priorities are safety and quality. We attach great importance to protecting our employees and, of course, our customers. That's why we opted for Efaflex high-speed doors. They meet precisely these high requirements and also function reliably in continuous operation. Last but not least, Efaflex offers a flexible customer service that solves problems in the shortest possible time if necessary," explains Radek Ponižil, Operations Engineer at Nestlé. The spare parts are produced in the Czech Republic and Efaflex says it can deliver most of them within 24 hours.

Impressive high opening speed

Although production began in the 19th century, the plant in Holešov now has new facilities that meet all the regulations for modern food processing plants. All raw materials for production and the finished products pass through the high-speed gates on arrival and delivery.

Most of them are Efa-Srt Premium. The main reason for their purchase was the high opening speed, which reaches up to 2.5 m/s. This is particularly important in food processing plants: thanks to the speed of opening and closing and the short hold-open times, the doors minimize the penetration of particles into the processing facilities. This applies, for example, to the doors that separate the outside areas from the production areas.

Faster processes, better climate

The doors also help to speed up logistics processes, save energy and create a better climate for employees in the halls. According to the supplier, another advantage is the long service life and reliable operation, which can handle hundreds of load changes every day without any problems. The Efa-Srt Eco completes up to 150,000 load changes per year.

Low camber variant for the shipping area

Another door with a special feature - an Efa-Sst-L - is installed in the dispatch area. Due to the limited space available, this is not a classic installation, but a low lintel variant. This solution is used where there is a low ceiling height and other door leaf guides cannot be used. This meant that a door with insulating slats could also be installed here.
