Fast as lightning: fail-safe data and energy management
Conductor rails are often used in the material flow industry today. However, these have the disadvantage that they are only used for energy transmission. The micro flizz from igus is therefore an alternative for transmitting energy, data and media horizontally over a distance of up to 100 meters. The plastic energy chain, which travels in a guide channel made of anodized extruded aluminium profile, has integrated "side wings". When stretched, these hold the chain securely in a special groove in the upper and lower part of the channel at all times. The wings fold in automatically when the chain bends in the radius. Together with plastic springs on the bars of the e-chain, they ensure smooth and quiet rolling, as the upper run of the chain does not rest on the lower run. This significantly reduces friction, wear, energy consumption and noise. A roller carriage at the end of the chain acts as a carrier. A counter-rotating arrangement even allows two e-chains to run simultaneously in one guide channel in order to move even more cables.
