Coordinated system components for sorting systems
The demands on handling capacity in the logistics industry are constantly increasing. To meet these challenges, SEW-Eurodrive offers various scalable solutions for the sorter and its infeed.
The topics of energy and maintenance are playing an increasingly important role - especially in times of rising energy costs and a shortage of skilled workers - and are increasingly coming into focus. SEW-Eurodrive manufactures scalable solutions for this purpose. The SLC linear motor, for example, is used for the contactless movement of the drive train of the sorting system. It ensures wear-free and silent operation of the main drive and replaces the classic friction wheel drive. In this proven drive concept, the EL3Z linear encoder on the SLC sorter main drive ensures precise position feedback of plus/minus 0.5 millimetres.
Additional functions, such as monitoring the magnetic field, which allows conclusions to be drawn about the overall system, can be implemented. Thanks to the Movilink DDI single-cable technology, the coordinated system components only require one digital interface. Automatic identification and commissioning of the drive using the digital nameplate ensures shorter commissioning times.
Efficient drives for conveyor technology
The latest generation of Movimot performance ELV low-voltage drives from the Bruchsal-based company drives the individual cross belts. Their high acceleration torques meet the dynamic requirements of sorting systems. The Movitrans contactless energy transfer system can be used as an option to supply the cross belts with energy. This wear-free and maintenance-friendly system reduces the burden on maintenance. Slotted waveguide technology is used for data transmission, which completes the range of solutions for the moving sorter line.
Efficient motors help to reduce operating costs in the face of constantly rising energy prices. The latest generation of motors from SEW-Eurodrive, the DR2C series of synchronous motors, is available for the Infeed. With the IE5 classification, an efficiency of up to 91 percent is achieved. In combination with efficient gear units and intelligent frequency inverters, energy-saving drive solutions are created.
When it comes to technical solutions for sorting systems, the focus is particularly on the functional groups of communication, energy transmission and drive technology. In addition to the hardware requirements, particular attention is paid to the software, which reduces commissioning times and simplifies system monitoring. The technical basis is the Movi-C modular automation system with the Movisuite engineering software.
