From SAP to Siemens
Volker Kirchgeorg is the new CEO of Siemens Digital Logistics
Volker Kirchgeorg took over the management of Siemens Digital Logistics GmbH in March. The company is a specialist in the digitalization of logistics processes and is one of the IT service providers in global supply chain management with integrated software and consulting solutions.
Kirchgeorg, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, has many years of experience in the IT industry and previously worked for SAP in Walldorf for more than nine years. As Senior Vice President, he was most recently responsible for company-wide quality management and, among other things, managed all software development processes and technical partner management. The Munich native's career also includes international consulting firms.
"Siemens Digital Logistics provides its customers with an innovative portfolio of cloud-based software solutions, consulting and implementation services as well as outstanding service, with which digitalization in the complex world of logistics can be achieved end-to-end simply, securely and efficiently. In this way, customers are supported on their way to a digital value chain," says 54-year-old Kirchgeorg, outlining the company's offering for industrial, retail and logistics companies.
