In her professional career, she was responsible for various innovation and strategy projects at Audi from 2012 to 2017, including the development of a company-wide strategy for piloted and connected driving and the VW Group strategy project "Autonomous Driving". There, she also developed the idea of founding a software company for autonomous driving in urban environments. Since the founding of "Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH" (AID), Silja Pieh has been working for the company as CFO and Head of Product.

Dr. Thomas Sedran, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand, explained: "In Silja Pieh, we have gained a renowned expert for the strategic development of our brand. With her expertise, we want to drive forward the transformation into an innovative mobility provider even more strongly and bundle certain Group topics more closely. These include, in particular, topics such as the intelligent, self-driving car of tomorrow and the focus on vehicles with zero-emission drives."
