Logistics Hall of Fame launches proposal phase with new award
The Logistics Hall of Fame surprises with a new award. In addition to the world-famous members, nominations for a "Logistics Leader of the Year" can now also be submitted for the first time.
"The members are the core of the Hall of Fame. They are the legends of logistics and represent the major milestones. Logistics Leaders are the future movers and shakers of the industry," says jury chairwoman Anita Würmser, explaining the difference between the two awards.
With the new award, the Hall of Fame aims to document current top achievements in logistics and supply chain management in addition to its role as a guardian in order to raise public awareness of the industry's performance and innovative strength. In future, the award will be presented annually to entrepreneurs and managers in the fields of logistics and supply chain management who have been particularly successful for their companies or have set trendsetting impulses. The focus is on topicality and the benefits for their own company.
The decisive factor for inclusion as a member of the Logistics Hall of Fame, however, is that an achievement is not only of benefit to an individual company, but has significantly and permanently advanced logistics beyond the boundaries of the company's own organization or has become the industry standard. The achievement can be technical, strategic, scientific, commercial or entrepreneurial.
Anyone can submit proposals or applications for inclusion in the Logistics Hall of Fame or Logistics Leader of the Year in German or English free of charge until May 3. Nominations can only be submitted via the Internet form at www.logisticshalloffame.net.
In the first round of voting, the Logistics Hall of Fame Council nominates the finalists from all the proposals. In the second round of voting, more than 60 internationally renowned industry experts decide who will enter the Logistics Hall of Fame as a new member and bear the title "Logistics Leader of the Year" for the first time. Both awards will be presented at the annual Logistics Hall of Fame Gala at the Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin. The Logistics Hall of Fame is supported by politicians, associations, the media, business and science. Its patron is Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer.
