Lars Dörhage takes over

Martin Schrüfer,

Generation change at logistics service provider Med-X-Press

Karl-Heinz Dörhage, founder of Med-X-Press GmbH, hands over the management of the company to his son Lars Dörhage on July 1. He joined the management team in 2009. Lars Dörhage has also been Head of Production (AMWHV) at the pharmaceutical logistics specialist since 2010. The businessman in wholesale and foreign trade is now assuming sole responsibility in the medium-sized family business. The senior will continue to support Med-X-Press with his expertise and network contacts.

Med-X-Press was founded in 2005 by Karl-Heinz Dörhage as a pharmaceutical sample mail order company and has quickly developed into a fulfillment provider for companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. At the same time as investing in buildings and equipment, Med-X-Press expanded its service portfolio. With the manufacturing license according to § 13.1 AMG and the wholesale license according to § 52a AMG, the company, GMP/GDP-certified, provides high-quality services along the supply chain of pharmaceuticals. The number of employees has increased and now stands at 350 at eight regional locations and one branch in Switzerland.

The succession plan ensures the further expansion of the pharmaceutical logistics specialist. The "new" company boss has a wide range of topics on his agenda:

  • The expansion of the product portfolio in the manufacturing sector, including serialization in line with the EU Falsified Medicines Directive.
  • Negotiations are currently being held with partners for the logistics business in Austria and Switzerland to further internationalize the company.
