Logistics Hall of Fame
Prestigious honors for Staake and Titzrath
On December 5, the gala reception of the Logistics Hall of Fame took place at the Federal Ministry of Transport. Erich Staake, CEO of Duisburger Hafen AG, was inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame as a "modernizer of inland port logistics". The CEO of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, Angela Titzrath, was also honored as "Logistics Leader of the Year 2019".
"Staake combines doing, managing and courage"
250 guests from logistics, politics and business honored the achievements of the two managers. With his logport concept, Erich Staake has led inland port logistics into a new era and turned the regional port of Duisburg into one of the leading logistics hubs in Europe. A total of 50,000 jobs, 7,000 directly in the port, have been created over the past 20 years.
"Erich Staake has a gift that is rarely found in managers: He combines doing, managing and courage. He takes responsibility, he leads and sets the direction. And he has shaken up logistics," said former Bertelsmann manager Mark Wössner, who gave the laudatory speech for the new member of the Logistics Hall of Fame. The Logistics Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the further development of logistics and supply chain management.
"Logistics Leader of the Year" honored for the first time
Angela Titzrath, CEO of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, received the "Logistics Leader of the Year 2019" award, which was presented for the first time at the reception. The new "Logistics Leader of the Year" award recognizes entrepreneurs and managers who have been particularly successful for their companies or have set a trend-setting impulse.
In his speech, Dr. Michael Güntner, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport, praised Titzrath's courage and perseverance as a change-maker, which she had used to sustainably advance the terminal operator HHLA within a short period of time. Angela Titzrath has been a member of the Executive Board of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) since October 2016 and Chairwoman of the Executive Board since January 1, 2017. She was previously a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Post AG, where she was responsible for Human Resources for the entire Group until 2014.
