Tegernsee, 08.03.2016 - It is now also known who is taking over the logistics service provider trans-o-flex (we reported): Amberger Familien GbR, Tegernsee, and Schoeller Holding, Munich/Zurich, have acquired the logistics service provider in equal shares.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The trans-o-flex Logistics Group is a specialized transport and logistics service provider for Europe-wide B2B logistics solutions. With a turnover of EUR 500 million (2014), the group employs 1,900 people and operates 91 of its own branches in Germany and Austria. The Group's services are divided into the areas of express delivery services, ThermoMed and logistics services.

The Amberger family, sole shareholder of Loxxess AG, and Gebrüder Schoeller had already jointly acquired trans-o-flex AG in 1995. At that time, trans-o-flex achieved a turnover of just under one billion DM. Following restructuring, the express delivery service was sold to Deutsche Post AG in 1998. Austrian Post acquired the company in 2008.

Peter Amberger, Managing Director of Amberger Familien GbR and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Loxxess AG, commented on the new purchase as follows:

"trans-o-flex is a great company whose particular strength lies in its services for the pharmaceutical industry. We see excellent market opportunities in this sector. We will therefore focus trans-o-flex even more strongly on this area."

Christoph Schoeller, Managing Director of Schoeller Holding, explained:

"We see the investment in trans-o-flex as a commitment with great potential. The market is seeing increasing demand in the niches in which the company has its strengths. Focusing on this is the key to strengthening profitability."

The new owners want to draw on the existing expertise in their network for the realignment of the company. As a shareholder of Loxxess Pharma GmbH, Amberger is very interested in expanding and improving services for the pharmaceutical industry. As a specialized service provider, Loxxess AG is also familiar with the requirements of the industry and other relevant sectors, such as high-tech and media logistics.

In this respect, Amberger forecasts synergies through the intensive cooperation between trans-o-flex and Loxxess Pharma as well as Loxxess AG. However, a merger is not planned under any circumstances.
