Logistics service provider
Hellmann repositions itself in the eCommerce sector
The full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed Marc Wijnen as Global Head of eCommerce. In this newly created position, he is responsible worldwide for the further development of the eCommerce product, which is assigned to the Contract Logistic segment.
At the same time, Marc Wijnen will continue to be responsible for the Contract Logistics Europe division as Chief Operating Officer. As an end-to-end provider, Hellmann is a business partner for customers worldwide. The company already offers individual solutions for the logistics planning and handling of the entire online business from a single source. Against the backdrop of the ongoing boom in online business, which has been further accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic, the company is now strategically repositioning its eCommerce product segment. The aim is to achieve sustainable growth, particularly in the fashion and lifestyle sectors, by offering solutions that cover the entire fulfillment process - from the creation of a web store and warehousing to the development and connection of individual order management systems and payment services. As an integrated e-fulfillment partner, the aim is to expand both the B2C and B2B business worldwide.
"The eCommerce market is extremely dynamic. In order to be able to meet our customers' increasing demand for innovative solutions in the future, we are currently establishing a 'Center of Excellence' with Marc Wijnen as Global Head of eCommerce, in which we are pooling our expertise and applying it worldwide. On the other hand, we are also testing new solutions and constantly developing our product range. In this way, we ensure that we can offer individually tailored services that are in tune with the times," says Volker Sauerborn, Chief Operating Officer Contract Logistics, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
