Around 10 hectares: that's the size of Group7's new site near Munich Airport. The logistics service provider is thus about to expand its headquarters, shortly after the Hamburg logistics center went into operation. "Our old headquarters is bursting at the seams: This affects both the logistics capacities and the office space for our forwarding departments and administration. We are therefore very grateful that we were able to find a suitable plot of land just a stone's throw away from our current headquarters in Schwaig/Oberding," says Günther Jocher, CEO and owner of Group7, describing the reason for the new building.

The planned expansion will live up to its name. The impressive logistics space of 60,000 square meters is roughly twice the size of Group7's previous multi-user center at Munich Airport. Once operational, Group7 will have a total of 360,000 square meters of logistics space in Germany. The space will be located in Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Bremen, Nuremberg, Hanover, Düsseldorf and Neuss near Düsseldorf. At all locations, Group7 employees also organize transport by air freight, sea freight and land transport.

Investment of almost 50 million euros

The investment sum for the service center and the administration building amounts to 48 million euros. However, getting there was not easy: "Thanks to the tireless cooperation of the planners, the architects, the municipality of Oberding, the responsible authorities and Group7, the development plan was realized in a record time of just one year," explains Jocher.

The 5,000 square meter office will be built as an office campus. Green spaces, lounges and a networking area will invite people to exchange ideas and work creatively alongside modern offices. "I want everyone on the Group7 campus to feel comfortable and have fun at work. Our comprehensive logistics and forwarding services demand a lot of creativity and problem-solving from our employees every day," concludes Jocher. The planned expansion will create around 210 new jobs for the region.
