Geodis completes takeover of trans-o-flex in Germany
Geodis has announced the completion of the acquisition of trans-o-flex, following regulatory approval. The acquisition will enable Geodis to significantly expand its delivery capabilities in Europe and establish itself as a major player in the healthcare market.
Marie-Christine Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of Geodis, said: "The acquisition of trans-o-flex, the largest temperature-controlled distribution network in Germany specializing in the healthcare sector, accelerates our growth in a key market for Geodis. We want to enable trans-o-flex to consolidate its market position in Germany and expand it in the largest European countries. This is part of our ambition to further develop our global end-to-end logistics solutions to support the growth and geographic expansion of our customers."
With the acquisition, Geodis expands its portfolio with a wide range of services for time-critical deliveries and offers a fast, reliable and time-definite delivery service in Germany, one of its most important market regions.
The addition of the trans-o-flex network to the existing Freight Forwarding and Contract Logistics activities will strengthen Geodis' position in Germany and together with more than 3,400 employees will generate a turnover of almost EUR 1.5 billion. By utilizing all the strengths and resources of trans-o-flex - including the strong brand and the expertise of the existing management team - synergies will be created for both companies.
trans-o-flex will remain independent and operate under the leadership of Wolfgang P. Albeck as CEO. Marie-Christine Lombard will take over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Christoph Schoeller as Deputy Chairman. trans-o-flex will report to Region Europe under the leadership of Thomas Kraus. In order to ensure commercial synergies, Wolfgang P. Albeck will join the Management Board of Geodis Europe.

Geodis: Plans to take over trans-o-flex
Geodis has signed an agreement to acquire trans-o-flex, a premium express transport company in Germany specializing in the temperature-controlled transport of pharmaceutical products and the on-time delivery of products for the cosmetics and high-tech industries.
Christoph Schoeller, Deputy Chairman of trans-o-flex, said: "We are delighted that trans-o-flex can now enter a new phase of international growth. To ensure continuity, the entire management of trans-o-flex will remain in office. Together we will continue to work on the Group's success story."
