Gebrüder Weiss takes over forwarding company KK+M in Tyrol

Gebrüder Weiss takes over Koler, Kuhn & Merk Speditions Ges.m.b.H (KK+M) in Lechaschau (Reutte district). The purchase agreement was signed on August 27 and applies retroactively to January 1, 2019.

"With the KK+M forwarding company in Reutte, we are covering another important region in Tyrol and towards southern Germany for our customers. We will be taking on all employees and would like to continue to grow there," says Hannes Mayr, Regional Manager West at Gebrüder Weiss. KK+M and Gebrüder Weiss have a long-standing partnership. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

KK+M can look back on 57 years of forwarding experience and is firmly anchored in Tyrol. With ten employees, the company offers all logistics services, including land transportation, air and sea freight, customs clearance as well as removal and parcel services. The company was up for sale as the owner Dietmar Koler wanted to retire and had no successor. With the takeover, Gebrüder Weiss is ensuring the continued existence of the traditional Tyrolean company. Dietmar Koler will continue to be available to the company as a consultant.

KK+M will continue to operate under its current name until the end of 2019. From January 1, 2020, the forwarding company will be run as the Gebrüder Weiss Reutte branch and will report to the Hall in Tirol branch. Further investments in the Reutte branch are planned in the medium term. In addition to its locations in Innsbruck, Hall and Wörgl, Gebrüder Weiss now has four locations in Tyrol with a total of around 300 employees.
