Focus on industrial intelligence

This year's PSI Logistics Day took place on February 18. The software company invited visitors to Stuttgart to discuss its solutions for optimizing material flows with customers, partners and interested parties - this time with a focus on "Industrial Intelligence".

In various technical contributions and presentations on best-practice applications, visitors were able to find out in detail about the possibilities of the software solutions and current developments. Topics included a presentation on the use of PSIglobal for strategic network planning of the supply chain at Schaeffler Technologies and the use of PSIwms in the newly created logistics center of the online eyewear retailer Mister Spex.

AI in logistics
The topic of artificial intelligence (AI) is also one of the current challenges in logistics, for which a software provider in particular should present digital solutions. Dr. Harald Schrimpf, CEO of PSI Software AG, therefore discussed the question: "What is industrial intelligence anyway?" The software products from PSI Logistics GmbH efficiently control and optimize logistics processes for shippers, retailers, airports, manufacturers and logistics service providers in a wide range of industries. With industrial intelligence, PSI focuses on solutions that combine the reliability and robustness of industrial process knowledge with the entire spectrum of artificial intelligence methods.

The company has now delivered more than 50 different AI processes in applications that are permanently supported and used productively. Markus Conrad, Quality Manager at PSI Logistics, explained these applications of industrial intelligence in image recognition at the airport, smart mobility and in the optimization of the supply chain and in transport management, whereby considerable potential benefits can be leveraged for customers. Among other things, the new PSIwms2019 and in-depth business process management with PSI software were also presented in Stuttgart.

Review 2018
PSI Logistics can also look back on a successful 2018, with the company achieving an increase in sales and increasing the number of employees by almost 30%. The expanded presence in the UK and Asia as well as the acquisition of new customers such as ThyssenKrupp, Continental and Fiege with ebay rounded off the year.

"Die Wirtschaftsmacher" campaign
During the event, Uwe Berndt, Managing Director of the Mainblick agency, promoted the logistics campaign of the "Die Wirtschaftsmacher" initiative. This campaign aims to highlight the importance of the logistics sector and improve its image
