Development of a new, sensor-based service
For the first time, the seaport and logistics service provider BLG Logistics is presenting findings from projects that deal with sensor-based services and pursue the intention of generating a new digital service to increase transparency in the supply chain.
The aim is to provide smart services for monitoring goods in the supply chain. The development of this digital service is based on the prerequisite of having real-time access to the position and status data of products in the supply chain. This vision can be realized with the help of a sensor that is mounted directly on the package or container. The transmitted sensor data is provided digitally for the customer, intelligently linked, evaluated and then visualized in a cloud-based IoT platform.BLG Logistics is open to further test customers with whom this service can be further developed.
