Off to Berlin!
Call for entries for German Logistics Award 2022 launched
Applications for the German Logistics Award 2022 are now open. It is awarded annually in October at the German Logistics Congress in Berlin.
In line with this year's BVL motto "Supply chains matter!", the evaluation of the concepts will for the first time focus more on social benefits, such as sustainability.
There have once again been changes to the award's jury. The new chair of the jury is journalist Dr. Ursula Weidenfeld. She succeeds Matthias Wissmann, who has chaired the jury since 2019 and is now stepping down. It is already a tradition that a representative of last year's award winner joins the jury: this year it is Katja Sander from DB Cargo. Also new are Alpha Barry (secida AG), Dr. Sascha Feldhorst (MotionMiners GmbH), Matthias Magnor (BLG Logistics Group), Prof. Dr. Johannes Meuer (Kühne Logistics University) and Dr. Victor Vican (Vattenfall Wärme GmbH).
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the BVL Executive Board: "Resilience and innovation, relevance and passion are the topics that we want to highlight more clearly for the German Logistics Award. I would like to thank the previous jury chairman Matthias Wissmann and the other outgoing jury members for their valuable contribution over the past few years. I am delighted that in Ursula Weidenfeld we have found a chairperson who is as committed as she is competent. In this composition, the jury covers the entire spectrum of supply chain management and logistics and the members are looking forward to the upcoming applications."
Companies from industry, trade and services are eligible to apply for the German Logistics Award. The size of the company or companies involved is irrelevant. Descriptions of methods and processes can be submitted that have led to improvements in supply chain management and logistics through innovation, for example less resource consumption, more stability and reliability, improved occupational safety or greater customer satisfaction. They must be concepts that have been implemented in practice.
