LogiMAT 2023
Smart labels - battery-free and cloud-based
At this year's LogiMAT, the Faubel Group is presenting battery-free smart labels that work via a cloud application for the first time.
Sven Rath, Business Development Manager at Faubel, supports numerous customers who use the advantages of dynamic labeling with RFID and e-paper technology: "The latest generation of our smart labels makes intralogistics processes reliable, seamless and secure. No battery means no regular maintenance. Thanks to the cloud application, the software is available at all times."
All e-paper displays that the Faubel Group will be exhibiting at stand 2B25 in hall 2 are bistable. The permanent display of texts, numbers and codes is therefore based on electrophoresis and does not require its own energy source.
The company develops the software for the smart labels in-house. "Thanks to a cloud app, our customers can always work with the software. In addition, the data is backed up automatically and regularly," explains Sven Rath. Faubel's software developers can also take a direct SAP ERP interface into account. SAP ERP backend data is made visible on the e-paper display in real time via the cloud app and a mobile device.
The importance of flexibility in intralogistics is also demonstrated by the housings of the Smart Labels. In addition to standardized variants, Sven Rath and his colleagues also offer their customers housings from the 3D printer. "These customized housings can be screwed, glued or attached with magnets or Velcro to the object to be labelled just as easily as our standardized variants. As individual as necessary and as simple as possible - this is the standard we set for every project."
