Intelligent Kanban solution thanks to RFID
Kanban systems make everyday production easier - Otto Roth showed what this looks like in concrete terms at Logimat in Stuttgart. The C-parts management expert presented its wide range of products.
An efficient Kanban solution that works with RFID technology was also on display. This year, visitors to the trade fair were also able to delve even deeper into the topic with live demos. These gave them the opportunity to experience the functionality of the clever systems in real time and see the benefits for themselves in a real application environment: those who use Kanban have a complete overview of C-parts management.
RFID for automated processes
In order to automate the supply of C-parts, the Kanban specialists have equipped each container with an RFID transponder in the form of a label. All important information about the respective article is stored there. If the employee wants to trigger an automatic order, there are two options: Either he places the empty bin on an RFID mat or he throws it into the collection box - depending on which solution is installed on site.
The data is read out and then transmitted wirelessly to a central computer - the Master Kanban Box. This summarizes all orders and automatically transmits them directly to Otto Roth's ERP system at predefined intervals via LAN, WLAN or mobile network. Changes and additional orders can also be made easily at any time. The convenient control functions and overviews ensure reliable data management. The advantages for the customer: They can reduce the costs of their procurement processes by up to 70 percent, automate reordering and manage their stock more cost-effectively.
Online platform and e-shop
The new online platform www.Kanban-Mobil.de makes C-Parts management even easier. Here, all relevant data relating to the needs-based supply of C-Parts can be viewed centrally - anytime and anywhere, whether via PC, tablet, smartphone or the RFID Kanban Master Box. The Master Box is now also connected to the Otto Roth e-shop. Users can select products individually online outside the Kanban system and place their order directly. They can also make inquiries.
