Jungheinrich electric pallet truck EJC 112i wins IFOY 2024
The International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Awards 2024 ceremony took place in Baden, Austria, on Friday evening. The innovative Jungheinrich EJC 112i electric pallet truck was honored with the prestigious award in the "Warehouse Truck highlifter" category.
For the first time, Jungheinrich has also used state-of-the-art lithium-ion technology in a pedestrian stacker in the entry-level segment. Jungheinrich has installed the lithium-ion battery modules, which are much smaller than conventional lead-acid batteries, in the truck to save space. The EJC 112i with 100 Ah battery has an L2 dimension of just 604 mm, making it 19 mm shorter than the most compact competitor truck currently on the market. The result is an impressive turning radius that enables even inexperienced users to maneuver the vehicle easily, precisely and safely, even in narrow aisles and storage areas.
"The rule that the smaller and lighter the battery and truck, the lower the stability and therefore the residual load capacity, no longer applies. With the EJC 112i, we have succeeded in achieving a combination of compactness and performance that is unparalleled in this segment," explains Jungheinrich Board Member for Sales Christian Erlach. By optimizing the truck's centre of gravity, the stability of the electric pallet truck has once again been significantly improved. The result is a considerable increase in residual load capacity of up to 250 kg. The EJC 112i now sets the benchmark in its vehicle segment with a residual load capacity of 650 kg over 4.70 m. The electric pallet truck also impresses with its fast lifting and lowering speeds.
