Less damage due to ESD-safe conveyor belts
Electrical components are sensitive to electrostatic discharges. Component damage can occur even at low voltages, which is why the effects of discharges usually remain undetected.
Item relies on the slow discharge of loads on the conveyor belts. The new Item conveyor belt system is therefore now also available with ESD-safe conveyor belts and timing belts. This provides optimum protection for sensitive components in accordance with IEC/DIN EN 61340-5-1. The PUR ESD accumulation-capable conveyor belt has a robust surface with reduced static friction. In combination with the already available accumulation-capable T5 PA timing belt, damage caused by electrostatic discharge is avoided. The use of timing belt guide rails and a stainless steel plate under the conveyor belts ensures that the load is safely routed to the motor's earth. This prevents damage caused by electrostatic discharge.
The PUR ESD conveyor belts are available in eight system widths from 40 to 400 millimetres. The ESD-safe T5 timing belts are 40 or 80 millimetres wide. The usual design as a double timing belt conveyor and double belt conveyor is also possible, as is ordering individual components to create customized conveyor belt sections. Item also has a large selection of ESD-safe components including earthing connections in its portfolio. Customized conveyor belts can be easily designed in the engineering tool. Users can access the rule-based software and within a few minutes receive a system that can be adapted to existing conditions and integrated into existing systems.
