New branch in Abu Dhabi
Dematic strengthens activities in the Gulf region
Dematic has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi to better serve its customers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the entire Gulf region. With the opening of a second office, the world's leading supplier of integrated automation technology is also expanding its presence in the United Arab Emirates.
"The UAE has traditionally been an important hub thanks to its central location and its major ports, which have developed into an important economic engine over the years," explains Rainer Schmid, Regional Market Manager for the Middle East at Dematic. "With increasing globalization, countries like the UAE have become major players in the international logistics supply chain. As the region continues to expand its status as a global trading hub, it is important for companies like Dematic to have a presence in the Gulf States."
The new office in Abu Dhabi is located in the middle of the Musaffah industrial area in the southwestern part of Abu Dhabi, which is considered one of the most important economic centers in the UAE. The Dematic office is located in the Mazyd Mall. Both branches are supported by the sales team in Dubai, which consists of Mithun Perinchery, Head of Sales for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, and Thomas Rosenau, Installation and Customer Service.
Mithun Perinchery, Head of Sales for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Dematic, explains: "We have gained greater exposure through the automation of Landmark Group's state-of-the-art premium distribution center. Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in Dubai, the facility pools stock and supplies regional warehouses in the Gulf region directly, as well as stores and consumers. Our goal is to establish ourselves as a partner for intralogistics automation and software throughout the Middle East. We are leveraging our global expertise with local presence, which requires the establishment of local offices in key markets."
Perinchery and Rosenau themselves moved into a new office in Dubai in 2021, which is located in the European Business Center in Dubai Investments Park. Rosenau, who has worked for Dematic since 2006, has been based in Dubai since 2017. He started as project manager for the Landmark project before taking over the lead for installation, customer service activities and management in the United Arab Emirates. Perinchery has been working in the UAE for 15 years and joined Dematic in 2021. Prior to working there, he gained extensive experience in the management of intralogistics automation.
