Online event on the future of supply chain management
Dematic continues Virtual Showcase series
Dematic is continuing its Virtual Showcase series with the Innovation Day on November 30. The second event will focus on the future of supply chain management.
At the online event, top speakers will provide cross-industry insights into best practice examples and present pioneering solutions for intralogistics. Opportunities and challenges in the current corona crisis as well as trends and strategies will be highlighted. The intralogistics specialist will also be showcasing its innovative technologies for retail, production and services. During a virtual warehouse tour through a current Dematic system, participants will be able to see for themselves how an automation system works and the benefits it offers.
"Corona has shown how important functioning supply chains are for society and the economy. A joint and cross-industry exchange of knowledge is therefore more important than ever, even if - due to the current circumstances - it is purely virtual," says Jessica Heinz, Head of Marketing and Business Development Dematic Central Europe. Not least the strong response to the kick-off event showed the great need for information regarding suitable intralogistics solutions left behind by the absence of trade fairs.
As usual, decision-makers, warehouse managers and supply chain managers can expect an informative and varied program at the Innovation Day. This time, current and future challenges along the supply chain will be discussed. The discourse, conducted from different perspectives, is also intended to provide participants with impetus for personal development. Participants will get a closer look at the intralogistics specialist's service portfolio during an online tour through the inner workings of a current Dematic system. There, a Dematic Automated Mixed Case Palletizing (AMCAP) system ensures the sequenced, fully automated palletizing of different goods and packaging units on pallets or roll containers and is particularly space- and energy-saving. "With a view to the decision-makers in supply chain management, we always place particular emphasis on flexibility, scalability and dynamism in our solutions in order to take growth into account from the outset," says Heinz.
There are also many other exciting formats in store for participants: for example, the award-winning futurologist and leading European digital expert Shivvy Jervis will be giving a keynote speech. She will discuss the use of ever-increasing amounts of data in intralogistics and relate this to the exciting field of artificial intelligence. Jennifer Tabbert, Head of Software Sales at Dematic, will also address the question of how stores and distribution centers can make their intralogistics processes more efficient, flexible and transparent with an integrated software solution. There will also be presentations on future omni-channel strategies, innovative micro-fulfillment solutions for grocers and retailers and the department store of the future. All keynotes will be illustrated by innovative best-practice examples.
