materialfluss: Does the topic of green logistics still "pull" in discussions with customers? What should logistics managers and those responsible for logistics pay particular attention to in this area?

Robosch: As at Knapp, the topic of sustainability is already part of the corporate strategy of many of our customers. Accordingly, responsibility towards the environment and society is also very important in discussions with customers. It is important to focus not only on reducing costs and the footprint of a logistics facility. It is also about creating attractive workplaces, reducing noise pollution and designing user-friendly software interfaces. These are all topics that we are continuously working on in the development of our systems. In general, we pursue the goal of making our activities as ecologically, economically and socially compatible as possible.

mfl: Which of your company's products or services comes to mind first when you think of green logistics?

Robosch: I'm thinking of the continuous optimization and coordination of intralogistics processes in order to reduce resource consumption. As an example, I would like to mention our optimization software redPilot. redPilot collects resource-related data on personnel, machines, energy, space requirements and general KPIs such as order structures or delivery times. Based on this data, the software creates optimal deployment plans and calculates simulations for a wide range of scenarios. In this way, redPilot helps warehouse operators to use existing resources more intelligently. The aim is to operate a logistics system at the ecological, social and economic optimum at every operating hour.
