Store pallets where others go on vacation
Eating pintxos and drinking txikitos - small appetizers and a glass of wine - is what the Basque Country is known for. Tourists come here to enjoy the traditional Basque cuisine and, of course, the coastal landscape. In Oiartzun, close to the border with France, the freight forwarding company Transnatur has had a new warehouse built. The pallet racking system comes from the Spanish supplier AR Racking.
Transnatur is a freight forwarder and logistics service provider that offers road, sea and air freight transportation as well as customs clearance and warehousing services for its customers. The family business was founded in Barcelona in 1979 and has 14 offices and contact points in Spain and Portugal, with a total of over 500 employees. Transnatur supplies 87 destinations in 48 countries. A truck arrives every nine minutes and a truck leaves a location in Spain every eight minutes.
From planning to implementation
AR Racking's services include all-round support in the creation of industrial storage systems. This ranges from technical and logistical advice to the planning of the systems, including the implementation deadlines and guaranteeing the quality of the products. The AR team works closely with the customer at every stage of the project in order to find the best storage solution for them and thus ensure that their logistics operations are more competitive. The team's professionals undergo continuous training in order to meet the demands of market evolution. AR Racking is part of the Spanish group Grupo Arania, a large industrial company with more than 75 years of experience in steel transformation in various sectors.
Transnatur has entrusted the AR Racking team of specialists in integrated storage solutions with the construction of a new warehouse in order to continue its growth. With the construction of the warehouse in Oiartzun, the Spanish logistics service provider has expanded its logistics space and increased its market presence.
Conventional pallet racking system adapts to the load
After determining the storage needs and their possible development, AR designed a conventional pallet racking system because it can be optimally adapted to very different types of loads. It also allows immediate access to each load unit, which in turn enables highly efficient operations. The system consists of eight double-row racking rows with nine modules measuring 9.25 meters high, 3.6 meters long and 1.1 meters deep. The system covers an area of 1,443 square meters and has a storage capacity for 3,348 Euro pallets weighing between 500 and 900 kilograms.
The company is growing - and so is the storage space
The entirety of Transnatur's facilities under distribution, warehouses and offices in Irun in the Basque Country cover a total of 5,700 square meters: 1,500 square meters of warehouse logistics, 3,000 square meters of transit warehouse and 1,200 square meters of office space. With the expansion of its infrastructure, the company can optimize its logistics processes and improve its service to customers in the general context of its growth over the last few years. The company's commercial director, Marcel van Noorloos, praises the collaboration with AR Racking: "In order to achieve our objectives, such as diversification, and to strengthen our leading position in the market, it is necessary to invest in new facilities. In this sense, the collaboration with AR Racking has enabled us to expand our range of services and further develop our services for our customers."
