Otto Roth shows the box that was reordered
The highlight at the Otto Roth stand is a new Kanban system with RFID technology.
Each container is equipped with an RFID transponder in the form of a label on which all important information about the respective item is stored. An electronic (RFID) mat is attached to the top rows of the Kanban shelves, which reads the tags of the empty Kanban boxes and transmits the data wirelessly to a central computer - the master Kanban box. The box forwards the order to the IT system at predefined intervals via LAN, W-LAN or mobile network. The employees only need to place the empty Kanban containers on the RFID mat to automatically trigger an ordering process. Once the order has been placed, the RFID tags on the bins can be blocked for a defined period of time. This prevents items from being ordered more than once by mistake. However, users can increase the order quantity manually if required. The Master Kanban Box is also suitable as an "RFID mailbox" for RFID tags - this means that employees can simply insert the transponders into the box to place orders.
