Load carrier
EPAL reports plus 5.2 percent in 2018
EPAL once again achieved a positive result in 2018 with 121.8 million EPAL load carriers produced and repaired. Compared to the previous year, this is an increase of 5.2% (2017 total: 115.8 million units). Looking at production and repairs separately, a total of 93.9 million EPAL load carriers were produced in 2018, 6.3% more than in 2017. As in the previous year, the repair figures remained stable at 27.5 million units. The increase in the production of EPAL pallet cages in 2018 was outstanding: with 408,076 pallet cages produced, the result was an increase of 30% compared to 2017.
Christian Kühnhold, CEO of EPAL: "Thanks to the intensive work of all licensees, but also thanks to the consistently strong demand in the FMCG sector and in the general and automotive supply industry, EPAL has also seen a correspondingly positive development. On this basis, we at EPAL want to make an effort to work on the issues and provide the tools so that the free exchange pool develops even better. This concerns the further development of existing load carriers, e.g. the intelligent EPAL pallet, or the market launch of new load carriers, such as the independently tested EPAL CP pallets."
