Stow launches new Movu Robotics brand

Stow Robotics becomes Movu Robotics. The broad-based portfolio ensures simpler automation in the warehouse. It includes automated storage, picking and transportation of pallets, containers and articles.

The Stow Group, a specialist in the development, manufacture and implementation of storage solutions and automated storage systems, has launched the new brand "Movu Robotics". The aim is to strengthen the "Robotics" division and meet the rapidly increasing demand for automation and robotics solutions. The new brand will replace the name "Stow Robotics" from September 19, 2023 and will be part of the Stow Group together with Stow Racking.

"Movu Robotics' philosophy is: 'No warehouse left behind'. We approach automation with simpler, modular, scalable, flexible and efficient solutions and help our customers to modernize their warehouses with automation," says Jos de Vuyst, CEO of the Stow Group.

Broad portfolio

The brand's portfolio includes the Movu Atlas pallet shuttle system, which moves multidimensionally in all directions in a rack and enables very dense automated pallet warehouses - in smaller operations with a few thousand pallet spaces through to large-scale projects with 80,000 spaces.

The Movu Escala robotic storage and fulfillment system uses shuttles to move containers around a rack. It uses a patented ramp system to move between levels. Storage density, productivity and accuracy in the delivery of goods in totes to picking workstations are maximized by this standardized and therefore much more cost-efficient solution. As with the Movu Atlas, capacity can be scalably increased with additional storage modules and performance can be flexibly increased with additional shuttles.

Launched on September 19, the Movu Eligo gripper arm robot can be seamlessly integrated as an optional picking station for Escala. It picks from a multi-SKU source warehouse into several mixed SKU target warehouses and can reach 600 parts per hour.

Autonomous mobile robot

Movu offers the I-Follow Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) for transporting pallets and containers from shuttle systems. It moves pallets and other load carriers autonomously and optionally collaboratively with order pickers and can also be used in refrigerated warehouses at temperatures as low as -25 degrees.

Together with the Warehouse Execution System (WES), the Movu solutions can either be used as stand-alone products or integrated into an autonomous subsystem. This significantly increases performance, reliability and service levels for customers.

Head office in Lokeren, Belgium

All Movu technologies can be visited live in the new, state-of-the-art Experience Center - one of the largest in Europe - at Movu Robotics' new headquarters in Lokeren. There will also be in-depth insights into the Movu Warehouse Execution System. This consists of Movu Ops for managing all operations, Movu Tower for checking available resources and selecting the most suitable shuttle or AMR, and Movu Pilot, which ensures the execution of the order at the level of the individual shuttles or AMRs.

The new headquarters, with over 5,000 square meters of space for administration, production and research & development, closely links all areas of the company. The sales department and the Experience Center drive the continuous innovation and growth of Movu Robotics.
