Outdoor AGV networks production and logistics
An international company in the plastics industry is automating its intralogistics at its German site with a solution from ek robotics. A specially developed vehicle model from the Out Move series, an outdoor AGV, is being used.
"The transport robots in this product series are robust special designs that we equip with weather protection structures and individual interior concepts," explains Ronald Kretschmer, Chief Sales Officer at ek robotics. "This allows us to offer maximum adaptability for outdoor use - even in widely varying environmental conditions."
Inside the Out Move is a conveyor system with three separately driven roller conveyors, each of which can transport up to 1,400 kilograms of material. Navigation is provided by an RFID guidance system installed in the floor, which ensures flexible control on the outdoor area. One of the company's project managers emphasizes: "The automation of material flows between production and the logistics center is an important step towards the future for us. With the solution from ek robotics, we are not only improving our process efficiency, but also the overall availability and safety of our operations."
