Individual automation of material transports
BITO presents FTS LEO custom
With the LEO custom automated guided vehicle system, BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann GmbH is adding a variant optimized for individual superstructures and processes to its LEO Locative AGV range.
With LEO Locative, BITO-Lagertechnik launched an automated guided vehicle system for container transport in 2017 that can be integrated into operational processes without the need for a separate Wi-Fi and IT connection. The new LEO custom is now a variable AGV solution for individual transport and can be expanded with individual superstructures depending on the application and thus integrated into different processes.
The driverless transport system is therefore suitable for the automation of material transportation in production. LEO custom has already been tested in the automotive industry, e.g. individual parts such as car seats or fenders can be transported with the system. LEO custom can also be used to transport loaded work preparation trolleys to production and empty trolleys back to logistics.
The automated guided vehicle system is also ideal for use in e-commerce warehouses, for example. LEO custom can be used to automate the movements of picking trolleys or, for example, to transport clothes rail racks to the picking area. LEO custom returns the empty trolleys or racks to the warehouse.
The system is not only suitable for transportation from A to B. It can also take on the function of a moving warehouse, in which the routes between the individual production steps are used as interim storage. By using the LEO custom, the phases between the production processes can be bridged - the goods are on their way to arrive just-in-time at the production site, the production site is not supplied with goods and the processes are decoupled from each other.
The use of the automated guided vehicle system also makes it possible to sort variants for subsequent processes, as the goods are automatically transported to the right places. The exact just-in-sequence sequences in production can be created using appropriate settings. The travel time can also be used for drying and rest periods between processes, for example - another way of decoupling work processes from one another.
No WLAN or other IT infrastructure is required to use the transport system. The AGV solution runs on lithium batteries and is charged at an automatic charging station - LEO custom can be called to the workplace at the touch of a button. According to BITO, the price-performance ratio ensures an ROI of less than one year.
