24th TEAM Logistics Forum: Industry meeting focuses on future trends
TEAM GmbH's annual logistics event in Paderborn is an information and networking platform with a long tradition. On November 5, around 300 experts met again to discuss the future of intralogistics. The focus was on digitalization, automation, robotics and artificial intelligence. The event was held for the 24th time under the motto "The future of intralogistics - innovations, automation and AI".
The trade audience used the day for networking, attended informative presentations and had the opportunity to gather information and exchange ideas at a diverse trade exhibition. "There is a great need for new creative and digital solutions," said Rainer Appel, Managing Director of TEAM, by way of introduction. "Even and especially in times of crisis," added moderator Michael Baranowski from Baranowski.digital, referring to the generally tighter budgets in the economy, the shortage of skilled workers and political uncertainty. There are various ways of tackling this problem and - this was the credo of the forum - it certainly gives cause for optimism in a time characterized by pessimism.
Generative AI supported, human-centered logistics remain
In her keynote presentation "From data to action - research approaches in intralogistics", Prof. Alice Kirchheim, Head of Material Flow Systems at Dortmund's Fraunhofer IML, provided insights into current research and development projects. The omnipresent topic of AI was also part of her presentation: "We will retain human-centered logistics. In future, generative AI will be just another 'employee at the table' that supports people and alleviates the staff shortage," said Kirchheim.
Klaus Fricke, authorized signatory and operations manager of Rila Feinkost-Importe, and Rainer Appel took the audience on a journey into the past in their presentation "Finding the right partner". Rila is known for its trade in national and international delicatessen products, has been working successfully with TEAM GmbH for 25 years and relies on the ProStore warehouse management system.
Another highlight of the day was the keynote speech by Michael Bolz, AutoStore Ltd. The Business Development Manager EMEA spoke about the latest innovations in the automated compact storage system, presented microfulfillment solutions in the smallest of spaces, high-throughput applications for large systems and even better system integration thanks to new router software. A new feature of AutoStore is its use in several temperature zones, including the deep-freeze area.
25th anniversary in 2025
During the breaks, there was plenty of time for exchange and discussions on the exhibition area with 22 exhibitor stands. This was followed in the afternoon by in-depth workshops on the topics of automation, robotics and AI. Marc Wallert provided a successful conclusion to the event. The bestselling author and keynote speaker is an "abduction survivor" and captivated the audience with his presentation "Strong through crises: Developing resilience".
Next year, the TEAMLogistikforum will celebrate its 25th anniversary on 25.11.2025.
