No chance for accidents
The reversing energy of a docking truck is sufficient for the Global Wheel-Lok from Rite-Hite to trigger a safe wheel lock. The reliable system helps to prevent accidents that can be caused by unsecured vehicles rolling away at the loading ramp.
Loading ramp accident site
Accident-free work processes are the dream of every logistics company. However, dangerous conditions prevail in places where goods are constantly being loaded. Vehicles that are inadequately secured or not secured at all pose a particularly high risk at the loading ramp. Semi-trailers can "creep" away from the loading ramp due to the movements of loading and unloading, or the truck driver may drive off prematurely during the loading process. Such situations can lead to catastrophic accidents. Just imagine a forklift truck falling off the loading ramp. Some companies try to reduce the risk with wheel chocks. However, these offer only minimal protection, as they are easy to drive over and must also be placed manually in the danger zone.
Simple function - multiple security
A vehicle locking system that is triggered automatically, such as the Global Wheel-Lok from Rite-Hite, offers greater safety. The flexible system is mounted on the floor directly in front of the loading ramp and secures almost all types of trailers. The principle is ingenious: the Global Wheel-Lok simply uses the reversing energy of the docking vehicle to trigger the locking mechanism. When approaching the loading ramp, the truck is positioned between two wheel guides. The rear wheel touches the trigger of the locking arm, which automatically detects the tire size and moves with the reversing vehicle towards the loading ramp. There, the locking arm reaches its full height and reliably locks the truck with a tensile force resistance of up to 142 kN.
Clear communication prevents misunderstandings
As soon as the vehicle is in position, the personnel at the loading point press the locking button on the control box. During loading and unloading, red and green signal lights permanently inform the driver and loading personnel about the respective loading status. This prevents misunderstandings and significantly improves safety at the loading point. The vehicle is only released again once the loading process has been completed by pressing the release button.
Low effort - maximum availability
Robust material made of high-quality steel and the simple electromechanical design with only a few moving parts make the Global-Wheel Lok a proven vehicle locking system with low maintenance requirements and maximum availability. The system works all year round in all weather conditions. Even in the event of a power failure, the mechanical lock remains locked, but can be released manually if necessary.
A worthwhile investment
The Global Wheel-Lok vehicle interlock from Rite-Hite is a worthwhile investment for logistics operations. Thanks to its safe function, it makes a significant contribution to preventing life-threatening accidents at the loading point. In addition to the high increase in safety, it saves the company considerable costs for possible consequences of accidents such as loss of personnel, loss of time due to accident investigations, damaged products and equipment and interruption of the supply chain.
Even more safety thanks to versatile connection options
Improving protection, safety, productivity and energy efficiency at the loading point is a top priority for Rite-Hite. To this end, the company offers a wide range of high-quality system solutions such as dock levellers, gates and safety barriers, which can be combined with the Global Wheel-Lok system. This creates effective all-round protection for loading personnel. The vehicle locking system can also be combined with active building security systems to increase security on the factory premises.
