MSK shrink technology in a new dimension

In 2020, MSK Covertech used the phase of the COVID pandemic for numerous new developments and considers itself very well equipped for the now recurring CO2 discussion.

With the new MSK shrink frame, MSK consistently uses technology that sustainably reduces the use of energy. "Even before the latest development of our shrink technology, the energy consumption of an MSK shrink frame was on average around 10% below the average level. The new generation of shrink frames introduced in 2020 now reduces gas consumption by an additional 13%," explains Uwe Jonkmanns, Sales & Marketing Director at MSK. "Some of our customers have recently also increasingly opted to use MSK Corritech electric shrink frames in order to do away with fossil fuels altogether." In some cases, this has been supported by the EU with funding for the use of energy from renewable sources. In addition, the new MSK shrink frame can enable additional energy savings of up to 40% by using the MSK Covershrink, which is also a new development. This, in conjunction with recyclable or biodegradable films, takes MSK shrink packaging to a new level. More than 20 models of the new MSK shrink frame have already been sold and 12 machines delivered in a very short space of time.

MSK also uses resource-saving technology in its stretch hood systems. A compact design, balanced vertical movements thanks to counterweights and a patented stretching process ensure low energy and film consumption.

Sustainability through digitalization

Sustainability is also increasingly made possible and visualized through the digitalization of processes. The latest digital MSK EMSY products allow MSK systems to be monitored in real time with regard to energy and film consumption using live key figures and statistics. The MSK EMSY 6 software networks the machine controls into an intelligent overall system and makes a significant contribution to the automation of the entire packaging line. With software products such as the MSK EMSY smart app, MSK also offers those customers who have not yet digitalized their production the opportunity to monitor the status of their MSK system on the go and thus get started with the digitalization of their processes. "Environmentally friendly machine concepts, energy savings, minimizing emissions and digitalization in the sense of Industry 4.0 are goals that will continue to shape the MSK Group's development and production processes in the coming years," Uwe Jonkmanns is certain.
