Li-ion technology
Clark expands low lift truck series
Following the market launch of the WPio20 pedestrian pallet truck and the PPXsio20 pallet truck with folding driver's platform, Clark is now introducing two more electric pallet trucks with Li-ion technology: the WPio15 and WPio18. The industrial truck manufacturer now has a complete range of low lift pallet trucks with load capacities from 1.2 to 2 tons.
The models in the WPio series are designed for transporting goods over short distances in goods distribution, production or warehousing. All vehicles are equipped with a Li-Ion battery. The purely electric lifting and lowering system allows the operator to move heavy loads ergonomically and efficiently without a great deal of physical effort. The compact vehicles also impress with their maneuverability.
The WPio15 has a maximum load capacity of 1,500 kilograms. The low lift pallet truck is equipped with a 24 volt (30 Ah) Li-ion battery and transports at a maximum speed of 4.5 km/h. The tiller can be operated intuitively by both right-handed and left-handed operators. The tiller can be operated intuitively by both right- and left-handed operators. To ensure safety during use, the vehicle brakes automatically when the tiller is released. Lateral support rollers improve stability when cornering. With an L2 dimension of just 400 mm and a turning radius of 1,390 mm, the WPio15 has a compact design and is ideally suited for use in confined spaces and for transport on trucks. The tare weight of the flexible storage assistant is only 160 kg including battery.
The WPio18 is equipped with a 48 volt (20 Ah) Li-ion battery, making it the all-rounder in this series. With a maximum load capacity of 1,800 kilograms and a driving speed of 5 km/h, the vehicle is ideal for transporting medium-heavy loads. This device also brakes automatically when the drawbar is released. Its L2 dimensions and turning radius correspond to those of the WPio15 - with a tare weight of 170 kilograms including battery. This means that this vehicle is also compact and therefore ideal for confined spaces and for transporting on a truck. The ergonomic tiller arm with easy-grip positioning of the controls is designed for both right-handed and left-handed users. The Smart Display integrated in the drawbar provides information on important driving parameters, such as battery level, operating hours, driving program, display of error codes and battery management. The device is started via Smart Key to protect the vehicle from unauthorized access.
Advantages of Li-Ion technology
The WPio series and Li-ion technology offer the operator advantages: The high energy density of the battery enables high driving performance and availability. Intermediate charging, for example during breaks, allows the operating times to be extended without reducing the service life. The user can choose between two battery charging options. Using the internal charger, the vehicle can be connected to any 230-volt socket to charge the battery using the plug on the charger. The second battery charging variant in the form of optional, handy interchangeable batteries weighing just ten or 14 kilograms ensures longer service life, for example in multi-shift operations. The exchangeable battery can be replaced with the empty battery in the vehicle in just one easy step. Compared to the block battery, the Li-ion battery has a longer service life. No additional maintenance work is required for the battery acid, as the Li-ion battery is maintenance-free. Intermediate charging can be carried out without a special charging room and the charging location does not need to be ventilated as with lead-acid batteries, as no gassing occurs.
